Description
The Norwegian artist Edvard Munch claims that he would find inspiration for his masterpiece “The Scream” while walking by at sunset, when suddenly the light of the setting sun turned the clouds “into blood-red”. He had sensed an “infinite scream passing through nature”. The painting's agonized face has become one of art's most iconic images, seen as a symbol of the anxiety of the human condition. He created 2 versions of a painting and two in pastels, and I chose for this work one of the pastel variant that was sold at auction for a record sum of nearly $120 million.
“Alien Invasion” is an imaginative and thought-provoking digital artwork that reimagines Edvard Munch's iconic pastel masterpiece. This piece takes the universal theme of anguish depicted in “The Scream” and transforms it into an alien invasion scene, adding a new layer of interpretation to Munch's work. The resulting artwork conveys a sense of imminent doom, capturing the terrifying realization of an Earth under attack. This amalgamation of emotion and science fiction unites two seemingly unrelated concepts, inviting viewers to ponder the mysteries of the universe as well as the human condition.
