Beautifully built - or should I say rebuilt - and perfectly captured! That must have been some storm!

Artist's Description

"Altes Land Museum" located in nord Germany has a stormy history from the beginning, more than 280 years ago, that I tried to capture with this photograph. The stormy Westerjork 49 house's history began more than 280 years ago at the end of Westerjork. Its owner had gotten into financial trouble. The bankruptcy proceedings were opened in 1821 and the farm was sold in 19 lots. This is how a court story that began in Westerjork as early as 1524 ended. Johann MÀhlmann bought the building, completely demolished the house, which was destroyed by a storm, and probably rebuilt it in 1825 on the foundations of the burned house in Westerjork 49. No longer inhabited after 1978, it falls into ruins more and more. The Westerjork 49 building has housed Jork's "Altes Land Museum" since 1990 and is a typical farmhouse (Fachhallenhaus) of the AltlÀnder (Ancient Lands), 35 m long, 17 m wide and 12 m high. The development of the Altes Land and the life of its inhabitants is presented on an exhibition...

About Chris Bee

Chris Bee

My name is Chris Bee. As a digital artist, I create colourful and meaningful works that capture the essence of the world around us. My works range from abstract works that challenge the viewer's perception of reality, to simple yet powerful portraits and landscapes that convey a sense of wonder and beauty. Through my unique, 'casual' style and attention to detail, I bring to life the subtle nuances of nature and humanity, creating images that are both captivating and profound. My works often explore themes of emotion, identity and the interconnectedness of all things, inviting the viewer to reflect on their own experiences and perceptions of the world. This is why you will find a random style in my collections, as each work has its own...
